Designed by pipeline engineers, for pipeline engineers
A centralised and scalable pipeline integrity digital twin platform built to help you access, manage and handover safety-critical data efficiently throughout the asset lifecycle.
Founded to solve real problems
PipelineSentry was founded in 2020 by James Wardrop with the distinction of winning the bp Performance Award 2020 with the support of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, now the Net Zero Technology Centre TechX program.
Throughout his career, James listened to the issues affecting end users and the same things kept coming up: fragmented data, missing traceability, and integrity workflows that couldn't survive handover or assurance reviews.
By understanding the multiple stakeholders' needs and requirements in pipeline design, construction and operation, the idea for PipelineSentry was formed. In 2020 with the support of the Net Zero Technology Centre TechX programme and an amazing team, this vision crystallised into reality.
bp Performance Award 2020
Recognised for innovation in pipeline integrity management with support from the Net Zero Technology Centre TechX program.
The team behind PipelineSentry
A multidisciplinary team combining deep pipeline engineering expertise with modern software development and strategic business guidance.

James Wardrop
Founder and Director
With over 18 years' experience in the oil and gas industry spanning operators, EPCs and offshore construction companies, James founded PipelineSentry to solve the real problems affecting integrity engineers. By understanding multiple stakeholder needs across pipeline design, construction and operation, he built a platform that delivers practical evidence-first solutions for pipeline integrity workflows.

Our Team
Define, prove, then scale
A conservative engagement model: define what matters, prove the workflow works, then scale.
01Define the decision
Agree the review forum, evidence requirements, and the outputs that must be defensible.
02Map sources
Confirm the real inputs (ILI, CP, survey, inspections, docs) and how they link.
03Pilot the workflow
Run one cycle end-to-end, including checks, assumptions, and packaging.
04Tighten and repeat
Reduce manual steps, close gaps, and make the runbook repeatable.
05Handover-ready
Deliver versioned outputs and guidance so the workflow is sustainable.
Work that survives handover
Because the work has to survive assurance, handover, and the next cycle.
Evidence over opinion
We prioritise traceability, completeness, and reviewable outputs over aesthetics.
Integration-minded
Outputs are built to fit your data platforms and digital twin landscape.
Minimal, testable starts
Start with one asset and a single decision cadence, then scale what works.
Practical standards
Define conventions once (IDs, units, thresholds), then reuse them across regions.
Let's scope a sensible starting point
Share your key sources and decision cadence. We'll propose a low-risk first step and outline the evidence you can expect. No fluff, just substance.
